KSRELIEF, ICRC SIGN A US$10 MILLION FINANCIAL SUPPORT MEMORANDUM TO MEET HUMANITARIAN NEEDS IN THE GAZA STRIP

RIYADH, Oct 16 (Bernama-SPA) -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed a US$10 million financial support memorandum Tuesday with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to address the growing humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the memorandum was signed by KSrelief's Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and Head of the Regional Delegation of the ICRC for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Mamadou Sow.

Under the agreement, the ICRC's programs and activities in the sectors of health, water, environmental sanitation, and nutrition in the Gaza Strip will be supported.

The funding will also assist displaced populations with urgent relief and shelter.

This initiative is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts, through KSrelief, to support the affected Palestinian people in Gaza and provide them with essential services.
