KUCHING, April 26 (Bernama) -- The passing of Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Sarawak Bureau photographer Muhamad Razali Nordin, 54, has been described as a great loss, as he was highly dedicated and well-liked among colleagues.

Bernama chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said this was evident in the late Muhamad Razali’s personality in carrying out his duties, as he consistently brought a positive atmosphere and uplifted the workplace environment.

“Throughout his service with Bernama, he was known as a committed and diligent individual who always demonstrated professionalism and a positive attitude in fulfilling his responsibilities.

“In any situation, whether on assignment in the field or at the office, he consistently gave his full cooperation and displayed a high level of dedication. His contributions and commitment are deeply appreciated and will always be remembered by the entire Bernama family,” she said when contacted here today.

Muhamad Razali, 54, who passed away at Sarawak General Hospital at 1.44 am, was laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim Cemetery at 11.35 am today.

Meanwhile, Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj described Muhamad Razali as highly creative and consistently committed to his duties, particularly in the field of visual journalism, despite facing health challenges.

“He was very passionate about photography and always contributed fresh ideas, especially when we began producing video content for social media and Bernama TV.

“Razali not only excelled in photography but was also among the key contributors of ideas for video coverage and visual news services,” he said when contacted.

He said that throughout his service, the late Muhamad Razali had been involved in covering major events both locally and abroad, reflecting his high level of professionalism and dedication.

“Although in recent years he frequently travelled to and from the hospital due to health issues, he continued to carry out his duties to the best of his ability. This shows his extraordinary commitment to his career,” he said.

Muhamad Razali, who hailed from Batu Gajah, Perak, began his career at Bernama headquarters in 1996 before serving at the Sarawak Bureau in 2002, the Selangor Bureau in 2004, and returning to headquarters in 2009 before being reassigned to the Sarawak Bureau in 2011, where he served until his passing.

He suffered from several chronic illnesses, including heart, liver and kidney conditions, and his health had deteriorated since last Ramadan, leaving him bedridden at his home in Taman Sukma, Petra Jaya, before he was admitted to Sarawak General Hospital for further treatment.
