BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 27 April (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan arrived here today to attend the 25th ASEAN-European Union Ministerial Meeting (AEMM).
Upon his arrival at Brunei International Airport here at approximately 2:30 PM, he was received by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei, Datuk Mohd Aini Atan.
The two-day AEMM, which begins today, is expected to discuss a range of issues, including the conflict in West Asia and the global supply crisis, as well as regional and international matters such as the Israel-Palestine and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The biennial meeting sees a packed schedule for Mohamad, who will be attending the main meeting tomorrow.
He is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, here today.
Mohamad is also scheduled to meet with his counterparts from Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania tomorrow.
The 25th AEMM is attended by all nine Foreign Ministers from ASEAN member states, except for Laos, which is represented by its Deputy Minister, while Myanmar is represented by the Permanent Secretary of its Ministry.
Meanwhile, six EU Foreign Ministers and one Education Minister from EU member states will attend the meeting.
Brunei, the host of the 25th AEMM, also serves as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations for the 2024–2027 term.
