KANGAR, Jan 10 (Bernama) – The Rahmah Sales in Perlis last year recorded a total sale valued at over RM7.2 million, benefiting 124,426 visitors.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) state branch director Rohaida Hassan said a total of RM2.6 million in government subsidies were also channelled throughout the Rahmah Sales to reduce the people’s cost of living there, she said.
"Perlis KPDN hopes that the Rahmah Sales programme will further stimulate the local retail sector while alleviating the financial burden on low-income households, especially those in rural areas," she said in a statement to Bernama today.
The Rahmah Sales in Perlis involved 203 events including 136 mobile sales, 50 in-store sales and 17 outdoor or premium sales events.
The government through KPDN has also initiated the mobile Rahmah Sales in ensuring the programme reaches all corners of the country and particularly in Perlis, Rohaida said.
She hoped for continued cooperation from industry players to ensure the success of the Rahmah Sales initiative in the future.
