E&P O&M SDN BHD, UMS AND POLITEKNIK KOTA KINABALU JOIN FORCES TO FOSTER LOCAL TALENT

KOTA KINABALU, June 27 -- Oil and gas services company E&P O&M Services Sdn Bhd (EPOMS),  Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), and Politeknik Kota Kinabalu (PKK) today joined forces to foster local talents in the state’s oil, gas and energy industry.

In a statement today, EPOMS said the company inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a letter of intent with UMS and PKK, respectively, at the Sabah Oil, Gas and Energy Conference and Exhibition here today.

The statement said the strategic partnership and collective efforts will have a positive impact in nurturing local talent to sustain employment and increase leadership roles within the industry.

"This will further create meaningful opportunities, empower individuals and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable society," the statement said.

EPOMS was represented by chief executive officer Zulkarnain Ismail and chief people officer Muhamad Faizal Saidin.

Vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Mansor and Registrar Luqman Ridha Anwar represented UMS while Academic Deputy Director Abdul Razak Mohd Daim and Head of Corporate Industry Services and Employability Centre Dr Jason William Vitales represented PKK.

Sabah Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun witnessed the signing ceremony.

The statement also said EPOMS recently won pipeline services contracts from Petronas in Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia.

In January this year, EPOMS also won a Bambazon small-field asset production sharing contract in Sabah waters.

"These awards show that this collaboration will be crucial in creating career opportunities for local talents to explore," the statement said.
