KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has introduced the Energy Asia Awards as an initiative under Energy Asia 2025 to recognise outstanding achievements and leaderships in advancing a just energy transition.
In a statement today, Petronas said the awards have been designed to complement the conference’s comprehensive agenda of constructive dialogues between global leaders and business executives on achieving a sustainable future that that tackles emissions reduction while preserving the region's ability to pursue economic growth and social progress.
It said that aligned with the conference's theme "Delivering Asia’s Energy Transition", the awards seek to showcase innovators and companies that deliver impactful solutions to meet the region’s growing energy demand, reduce carbon emissions and promote systemic towards sustainability while prioritising people and communities at the core of the energy transition.
Datin Arni Laily Anwarrudin, Petronas senior general manager (Energy Asia & strategy, planning and governance, group strategic relations and communications), said the awards were designed to recognise and celebrate individuals, organisations and initiatives leading the charge in shaping a cleaner, sustainable future – serving as an inspiration for others to follow.
The awards will comprise Eureka Award, which honours entrepreneurs and companies accelerating decarbonisation efforts and enhancing resource efficiency through ground-breaking technologies and innovations, and Trailblazer Award, which recognises changemakers and organisations committed to fostering inclusive growth that supports socioeconomic development in education, environmental preservation, and energy security.
Submissions for both categories will open from Jan 6, 2025, to March 31, 2025, with winners to be announced at the conference reception. Winners will also have the opportunity to participate in Energy Asia 2025’s programme discussions.
Energy Asia 2025 will be held in Kuala Lumpur from June 16-18, 2025.
