SEREMBAN, June 29 (Bernama) -- The body of a Bangladeshi man was found floating in Sungai Muar near Kampung Kuala Gemas in Gemas this morning.
Tampin police chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said police received a report on the discovery at 9.55 am today.
He said the 46-year-old labourer was previously reported missing after he was believed to have drowned while setting up a fishing net at a water pump area in Kampung Bangkahulu, last Thursday.
“Investigations revealed the victim fell into the water and was swept away for about 13 kilometres. The body has been identified by the victim’s next of kin,” he said in a statement today.
The body has been sent to the Forensic Department of Tampin Hospital for a post-mortem. The case is being classified as sudden death.
