KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- A fire today destroyed six units on the fifth floor of Pinggiran Flats, in Taman Pinggiran Batu Caves here.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said the department received a distress call at 11.39 am, and 22 firemen in five engines from the Selayang, Sungai Buloh, Gombak Selatan and Shah Alam stations were deployed to the scene.
He said the fire was brought under control by 12.11 pm, and no casualties were reported.
“The fire involved six flat units, each measuring 35 by 25 feet. Three of the units were completely destroyed,” he said in a statement.
