Perak AKM Tour: Career carnival to offer over 3,000 job opportunities

PASIR SALAK, July 1 (Bernama) -- The JaminKerja Keluarga Malaysia Career Carnival programme held in conjunction with the three-day Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia or Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour (AKM) starting today, offered a total of 3,317 job opportunities to those seeking employment.

Perak Social Security Organisation (Socso) Employer Services head, Shahir Hasan, said that the carnival involved a total of 24 employers, who offered job opportunities by companies located in and outside the state.

“As of today, we have pre-registered (on MyFutureJob) 300 to 500 people in our records, who are already interested in participating in it (the Career Carnival programme).

“However, we have to call them, because sometimes they did register but turn up in the afternoon instead of the morning. We have to always remind the candidates (to come),” he said when met by Bernama at the AKM Tour programme, held at the Dato’ Sagor Circuit in Kampung Telok in Kampung Gajah, today.

Apart from that, he said that prospective employees from nearby public and private institutions of higher learning (IPTA and IPTS), who had completed their studies, are also invited to attend the programme in an effort to expose them to the job search process.

Among the companies involved in the career fair at the AKM Tour programme today are Maybank, Indkom Engineering Sdn Bhd, Copthorne Cameron Highlands, Ladang Moccis Sdn Bhd and Central Medicare Sdn Bhd.

Shahir also called on the public around Perak to come and enliven the AKM tour, and at the same time attend the JaminKerja career carnival to fill vacancies in various positions in and outside the state.

The Perak AKM tour opened today with more than 30,000 visitors expected to attend the three-day programme.
