JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- The Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) community have been urged to be more agile and resilient in navigating global challenges to sustain excellence in teaching, research, innovation and financial sustainability.
UTM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail said that the university’s 2024 Action Plan, or enVision Moonshot Transformative Journey 2.0, has outlined five key focuses to achieve these objectives.
In a statement issued in conjunction with the Vice-Chancellor’s 2024 Mandate themed ‘Innovating Technology, Cultivating Integrity’ held in the presence of 3,000 UTM members today, he said the first focus is on various initiatives to produce future-oriented quality graduates.
The second focus is on enhancing the commercialisation of intellectual properties, while the third focus is on sustainability, whereby the campus master plan will be designed and developed based on the sustainable tropical campus concept to achieve the zero-carbon campus target.
The fourth focus emphasises empowering the Digital Transformation agenda, especially through efforts to enhance the functionality of the UTMSmart application.
“Through the fifth focus, UTM will implement the strategic internationalisation mission ‘Vice-Chancellor Asia Tour 3.0’ while continuing to strengthen its position in global rankings such as the QS World University Ranking, THE World University Ranking and THE Impact Ranking,” he said.
