KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- Great Eastern Takaful Berhad (GETB), a family takaful company, celebrated Hari Raya in style recently by embarking on a quintessential 'balik kampung' journey aboard a locomotive train from Kuala Lumpur to Tampin, Melaka, providing its employees a unique and nostalgic experience.
GETB chief executive office Shahrul Azlan Shahriman said the event was themed ‘Melayu Klasik’ and the company chartered 12 coaches with funfilled activities to allow their staff to enjoy the festive season in classic style.
"It was heartwarming to observe the value of togetherness. This is part of our efforts to demonstrate our utmost appreciation to everyone who has tirelessly contributed towards our business growth," he said in a statement today.
He added that the occasion was made more special with the presence of the underprivileged community.
In a bid to reaffirm the company's commitment to aiding those in need, GETB extended an invitation to underprivileged children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Harapan to join in the celebration.
Shahrul emphasised that their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, which is a part of the GET-Care programme, aimed to offer an exciting Raya celebration experience to all guests.
In addition to indulging in delicious Raya delicacies, the event was filled with nostalgia as the staff reminisced about their childhood snacks, providing a delightful feast for the senses.
There was also a photo booth, rezeki lucky draw and best dressed competition alongside performances by live buskers.
