Batik Air Offers Fixed Airfares To Sabah, Sarawak For Hari Raya

SUBANG, March 6 (Bernama) -- Local airline Batik Air will offer fixed airfares of RM319 to Sarawak and RM379 to Sabah during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced today.

He said the initiative provides a fair, transparent and affordable travel option during the peak festive period.

“This effort reflects a deep understanding of what truly matters to passengers and is a commendable step towards making festive travel more accessible to all,” he said in his speech at the Batik Air Iftar celebration here today.

Also present were Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) executive chairman Datuk Seri Saripuddin Kasim and Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) chief executive officer Datuk Captain Norazman  Mahmud.

According to Loke, the airline has also increased flight frequencies, with up to 140 additional services to key domestic destinations, including Kota Bharu, Alor Setar, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Sibu, Sandakan and Tawau.

“These additional flights will provide greater flexibility and convenience, ensuring more Malaysians can return home for the celebrations.

“With this expansion, Batik Air is adding over 22,000 additional seats during the peak travel period, further enhancing accessibility and ensuring a smoother travel experience for all passengers,” he said.

Loke added that Batik Air’s expanding network and continued commitment to passenger experience have strengthened its role in Malaysia’s aviation landscape. 

“The airline’s growth is a testament to its dedication to providing greater travel options, and I look forward to seeing even more initiatives that put the needs of travellers first.

“We encourage airlines to continue adopting fair and transparent pricing strategies that enhance connectivity within Malaysia and beyond,” he said.
