PMR Makes It Easier For Rural Folks To Access Gov't Services

03/09/2025 11:41 AM

ALOR SETAR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- The three-day MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) in Kedah, which will be held in Baling from tomorrow (Sept 4), will make it easier for the people, especially those living in rural and remote areas in the district, to access the government services that will be brought directly to them.

Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa said the programme, to be held at the Baling District Council Sports Complex from 9 am to 10 pm, will offer various government services to facilitate the public settling all matters in one place.

"We bring our services to the people. Usually, they need to go to the city or town to resolve government-related matters, but the PMR is like a one-stop centre where all the agencies are gathered. So, the public can get five or six government matters sorted out at once.

"Among the programmes lined up include a 30 per cent price reduction for daily essentials, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) helmet exchange initiative, as well as a variety of programmes by other government agencies,” he said in an interview on the TV1 'Selamat Pagi Malaysia’ programme today.

He said the PMR will also serve as a platform for a wider dissemination of government policies and initiatives, including assistance, employment opportunities and health, as well as allow the people to see for themselves what the MADANI government is doing to ensure the people’s well-being and harmony.

"When such programmes are held, the people can come and see for themselves what the government has done and they can provide inputs to the government for improvement… when the people communicate with the government, the government will listen.

"So, I encourage everyone to come, bring your families and friends, and get all the information. Sometimes, people don't know what the government is doing, so come and see for yourselves,” he said.

Mohamad Fauzi also invited the public to participate in the Gerakan Bersama Malaysiaku - a competition held in conjunction with Malaysia Day, where those aged 18 and above have the opportunity to showcase their patriotism by uploading personal photos along with messages of independence aspirations on the Bersama Malaysiaku portal.

"They can submit individual photos, for example, while carrying out their duties… uniformed work, cleaning, engineers or entrepreneurs, all can send their entries. Take a photo, fill out the form and send it to the official website provided by the organisers.

"The closing date is Sept 14 and the winners will be announced on Malaysia Day. It is understood that attractive prices will be up for grabs, including a car and motorcycles,” he said.
