KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- The team from the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) of Felda Linggiu, Johor, emerged as the national champion of the 2025 Tiny Techies Competition in the secondary school category, while NADI Felda Gunung Besout 1, Perak, won the primary school category.
As champions, both teams -- each represented by two students -- took home RM2,000 in cash prizes and will represent Malaysia at the global robotics competition to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, later this month.
Tiny Techies programme director Areehan Abdullah said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) initiative was a major aspiration to enhance technological mastery and skills, nurture creativity, and build confidence among students to compete at higher levels.
“Students competed at the NADI level, state level, then regional, and now at the national level. Insha-Allah, we will bring the champions to compete internationally,” he said during his speech at the closing ceremony of the national-level Tiny Techies 2025 Competition here today.
Also present were MCMC member General (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Zulkifeli Mohd Zin and NADI Office head Dr Mohd Arif Adenan.
The competition, held under the NADI Smart Services initiative and the Lifelong Learning Core, featured 50 participants comprising primary and secondary school students nationwide.
The runner-up in the secondary school category was the team from NADI Kampung Pianggu, Pahang, which won RM1,500, while NADI Kampung Telaga Daing, Terengganu, secured third place with RM1,000.
In the primary school category, the runner-up was NADI Kampung Paya Jakas, Segamat, Johor, while NADI Padang Tembak, Kelantan, took third place.
Teams that placed fourth and fifth received RM300 and RM200 respectively, while five other NADI teams received special awards, each with an RM300 cash prize.
