Pintas Utama Strengthens Reputation With SHASSIC Recognition

KUALA LUMPUR,  Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Local construction company Pintas Utama Sdn. Bhd (Pintas Utama)  has further strengthened its reputation as a reputable contractor after receiving the Safety and Health Assessment System in Construction (SHASSIC) recognition at the QUEST 2025 ceremony today.

In a statement, Pintas Utama said the award acknowledges the company’s steadfast commitment to upholding the highest safety standards at construction sites, particularly in the implementation of the slope and road improvement project from Kampung Tuit to Kampung Mat Daling, Jerantut, Pahang (Section 2).

“The Kampung Tuit Project (Section 2) is a strategic project that connects Kuala Tahan and the Hulu Tembeling area, encompassing Kampung Pagi, Kuala Sat, Kampung Bantal, Kampung Mat Daling and Kampung Gusai for the well-being of the residents.

“Before this project was implemented, residents only relied on water transportation via Sungai Tembeling, which took between four and five hours.

“With the completion of the safer land route, travel time has now been significantly reduced to about one hour, greatly improving connectivity and accessibility,” read the statement.

The project was carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) with the Director of Pahang Public Works as the supervising officer and Pintas Utama as the main contractor.

Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB)  chief executive Zainora Zainal, together with CIDB senior general manager (Technology and Business Development Sector)  Rofizlan Ahmad, presented the award to Pintas Utama and the Pahang Public Works Department (JKR).

The event was officiated by Deputy Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan, and also present was Cara Kuasa Sdn. Bhd and Auqvale Corporation Sdn. Bhd director Datuk Abu Jimi Samat.

According to the statement, SHASSIC is an independent assessment method developed by the CIDB to assess safety and health performance in construction works.

It includes three main components, namely document review, on-site inspection, and interviews with workers.

“Through the combination of these three components, SHASSIC comprehensively assesses the level of implementation of a safe, systematic work culture and compliance with safety regulations in the construction industry in Malaysia.

“This is to ensure the level of implementation of a safe and systematic work culture in the construction industry,” the statement said.
