SEREMBAN, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Young people, especially students, must be equipped with adaptive skills in line with current technological developments and a strong nation-building spirit to ensure the country’s future remains bright and competitive.
Dewan Negara member Dr Jufitri Joha said the ability to adapt to technological trends and global changes is no longer an option but a fundamental necessity to ensure that the younger generation remains relevant and competitive.
He said quality education is the foundation for shaping the minds and character of young people who possess a nation-building spirit, mature thinking, and the ability to rise above racial and partisan political boundaries.
“We must prepare our youth not only to seek knowledge for personal advancement, but to have the spirit to build and drive the nation towards greater excellence.
“We must invest in the education system. The Malaysia Education Plan (RPM) 2026-2035 provides a clear direction for the future of education and youth development,” he said at the Negeri Sembilan-level RPM 2026-2035 discourse programme today.
The discourse, organised by Pertubuhan Penggerak MADANI Negeri Sembilan, is aimed at raising public awareness of the shared responsibility in realising the national education agenda and ensuring the success of RPM 2026-2035.
It was attended by 250 participants from various segments of society, as well as government and private sector agency representatives.
Meanwhile, Jufitri said the younger generation must understand that the true measure of life is not wealth, status, money or, in today’s context, the number of followers one has. Rather, a person’s dignity is defined by values such as justice, humanity and respect for cultural diversity.
