KUANTAN, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, today graciously visited and extended her care to the two daugthers of a married couple who perished in a fire in Kampung Pamah Kulat, Ulu Dong, Raub.
Her Royal Highness expressed sadness and sympathy over the fate of the siblings, Ruby Adalia Balqis Mohd Alawi, 19, and Ahmad Balia Murqam, 15, and decreed that the relevant authorities take immediate action to safeguard their welfare, particularly regarding their care and education.
“In addition to conveying advice and words of encouragement, Her Royal Highness also presented personal contributions from the Sultan of Pahang (Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah) and from Her Royal Highness herself,” according to a post uploaded on the Facebook page of the Pahang Sultanate tonight.
The fire in the early hours of last Thursday claimed the lives of Mohd Alawi Muhammad, 56; his wife, Zaleha Adam @ Ibrahim, 44; and their three daughters — Ruby Adira Batrisya, 17; Ruby Adlina Banin, 14; and Ruby Azyan Barizah, 10.
Ruby Adalia Balqis, a matriculation student in Gambang here, and Ahmad Balia Murqam, a student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dong, survived as they were not at home when the tragic incident occurred.
