KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- GM Klang continues to strengthen its commitment to empowering the community by highlighting the potential of entrepreneurs with disabilities (PwD) by organising the Ramadan Bazaar and Rioooh Raya Bazaar in conjunction with this year’s festive season.
GM Klang Senior Communications Manager Norsuhaida Othman said the initiative not only provides a sales platform but also elevates the potential of disabled entrepreneurs so they can compete in today’s business landscape.
“We believe every entrepreneur has great potential to succeed when given the right space, opportunities and support.
“Through the Ramadan Bazaar and Rioooh Raya Bazaar, we are not merely providing a sales platform, but also uplifting the potential of OKU entrepreneurs so that they can stand shoulder to shoulder and compete in the current business environment,” she said in a statement today, adding that this year’s bazaar concept was to provide a comprehensive Ramadan experience.
“Visitors can purchase food for breaking fast at the Ramadan Bazaar, then lay out mats and break their fast with their family at Dataran GM Klang before continuing their shopping more comfortably as we now operate until 10 pm.
“This is the uniqueness of GM Klang as a one-stop destination throughout Ramadan and Syawal,” she added.
The initiative is also in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) in providing a strategic business platform to help disabled entrepreneurs expand their businesses and enhance competitiveness within the local business ecosystem.
The GM Klang Ramadan Bazaar is open daily from 3 pm to 8 pm throughout the month of Ramadan with nearly 35 local entrepreneurs, including 15 disabled entrepreneurs offering a variety of traditional dishes and food for breaking fast.
Meanwhile, the Rioooh Raya Bazaar, held around the premises, offers a wide range of Aidilfitri necessities including festive clothing, accessories, chips and traditional cookies, as well as home decorations.
