Data-driven Plan In The Works to Manage Unity-related Challenges

08/04/2026 12:34 PM

PUTRAJAYA, April 8 (Bernama) -- The National Unity Ministry (KPN) will develop a comprehensive, integrated and data-driven action plan to manage and monitor hate-related issues and emerging developments that could threaten national harmony and public well-being, as part of efforts to strengthen the National Unity Integration Research and Training Institute (IKLIN).

Its minister, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, said the data-driven approach is crucial to ensure that unity-related issues are managed in a more systematic, responsive and effective manner amid increasingly complex social challenges.

“In line with the aspirations of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), IKLIN will be upgraded as a Centre of Excellence for Unity, serving as a key catalyst in strengthening the national unity ecosystem in a holistic and sustainable manner,” he said in a statement here today.

Aaron said the government will also establish a high-impact research centre focusing on studies related to national unity, inter-ethnic relations, as well as analysis of hate-based narratives and statements in Malaysia.

At the same time, he said IKLIN’s role will be strengthened as a strategic reference centre with the capability to provide inputs, data analysis and policy insights on unity, conflict management and national integration to support more structured, systematic and effective policymaking.

Aaron said the strategy also emphasises human capital development through efforts to enhance competencies in unity and nationhood, aimed at producing “Unity Social Engineers” who can act as agents of social transformation at the grassroots level.

He said the initiative reflects the MADANI Government’s commitment to strengthening the foundation of an inclusive, progressive and resilient nation.

He added that unity is not merely an aspiration, but a fundamental prerequisite for political stability, economic prosperity and the overall well-being of the people.
