JOHOR BAHRU, April 22 (Bernama) -- The management of Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) has taken a serious view of a viral allegation involving an individual purportedly posing as hospital staff and requesting a cash payment for a ward deposit without issuing an official receipt.
In a post on Threads, HSA said initial investigations found that the individual was not a hospital employee and had been handed over to the police for further investigation.
The public has been advised to remain vigilant and to make all payments only at official Revenue Counters, ensuring that valid receipts are issued for every transaction.
“This is to prevent them from falling victim to scams by irresponsible parties attempting to take advantage,” the post read.
Earlier, a woman claimed that her mother was asked to pay RM30 in cash to the individual when registering her father’s admission to the ward, without being issued a receipt.
