JOHOR BAHRU, May 17 (Bernama) -- The government will discuss the suggestion to raise the Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) for delivery riders to 250 litres at the National Economic Action Council on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter would be carefully reviewed to ensure the riders’ welfare as the current monthly limit of 200 litres for delivery riders was the same as the rate of normal usage.
“I will bring (the matter) up for discussion at this Tuesday’s meeting. Because they get 200 litres the same as us, RON95 only 200 litres.
“So I said, I will remind Fahmi (Datuk Fahmi Fadzil), we will find a way at least raise it by 50 litres, (to) 250 litres,” he said during his speech at a gathering with the Johor people at the Taman Desa Mutiara People’s Housing Project Open Hall in Tebrau today.
He added that he mooted the suggestion himself after meeting and listening to delivery riders about the current quota limit.
In other developments, Anwar also announced an immediate allocation of RM1 million for repairs at the Taman Desa Mutiara People’s Housing Project after listening to complaints by the residents’ committee.
“I approve RM1 million first… at least for what’s pressing. If anything is broken, doors of such, we will repair them,” he said.
He also instructed that the non-functioning toilets at Sekolah Bukit Mutiara be immediately repaired after the matte rwas brought up by residents during the function.
He said the government’s capability in channeling infrastructure aid and maintaining RON95 prices at RM1.99 a litre (under BUDI95), which he described as one of the lowest in the world, was the result of the country’s stability, good diplomatic ties and close cooperation between the federal and state governments.
