KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) continues to play an important role in delivering credible information to the people, especially in the current era of borderless information overload, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said in a fast-moving world, the presence of a credible media institution is crucial to ensure society receives authentic, accurate and factual information.
“For 59 years, BERNAMA has upheld this great responsibility as the national news agency and the country’s primary reference point.
“From current affairs, government policies, economy and sports to international issues, BERNAMA continues to play its role in conveying information to the people with full responsibility and professionalism,” he said in a Facebook post in conjunction with BERNAMA’s 59th anniversary today.
Ahmad Zahid also expressed appreciation to all BERNAMA personnel for their dedication and sacrifices in ensuring the nation’s journalism industry remains strong as a bridge of information between the people and the country.
He also prayed that BERNAMA would continue to progress and remain a media institution trusted by the people and respected at both the national and international levels.
