KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- The Public Works Ministry (KKR) will consider an allocation of about RM3 million to repair damage at the Public Works Department (JKR) quarters at Batu 4 1/2, Sungai Besi here, which were affected by a storm yesterday.
Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said an initial inspection found that 57 residential units were damaged in the incident, which occurred at about 3 pm, and repairs are now underway.
“There are 150 terrace house quarters as well as apartment units in this area. KKR will give due consideration for the necessary approval,” he said in a statement after visiting the location today.
Meanwhile, the JKR said the storm also caused damage to several structures and properties in the affected area.
Observations found that the damage involved residential roofs, garages collapsing onto vehicles, and several other damages caused by falling roofs and building debris, it added.
