KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) -- The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives retreated, closing lower in line with COMEX gold prices.
At the close, the spot month July 2024 contract fell to US$2,371.00 per troy ounce from US$2,413.80 per troy ounce on Wednesday.
Contracts for August 2024, September 2024, October 2024, December 2024 and February 2025 also declined to US$2,384.40 per troy ounce from US$2,427.20 per troy ounce.
Volume rose to 11 lots from nine lots yesterday, while open interest improved to 35 contracts from 33 contracts.
The price of physical gold stood at US$2,421.45 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on July 24.
