PETALING JAYA, July 11 (Bernama) -- The Media and Association Appreciation recognition by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) presented to the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) reflects the agency’s broad contribution to the country’s media industry.
Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said the recognition, received in conjunction with the MBR’s 30th anniversary celebration, was a testament to the appreciation shown towards media practitioners for their commitment in highlighting the success stories of Malaysians through high-quality coverage.
“Our role as a news agency, as well as a television and radio station, has been recognised, and I view this as a recognition of Bernama’s overall contribution to the media industry.
“This proves the significant contribution of media practitioners in promoting the success stories highlighted by MBR. We provide coverage and produce content that showcases their extraordinary achievements,” she told Bernama after receiving the recognition here tonight.
The recognition was presented by MBR chairman Datuk Seri Dr Micheal Tio. Also present were former Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, MBR CEO Christopher Wong, and head of Bernama TV Nor Hamzeela Md Hambali.
Nur-ul Afida further said that Bernama and MBR would embark on a strategic partnership to produce a 13-episode special series featuring MBR record holders.
“MBR itself believes in the role we play, as reflected in its collaboration with Bernama to produce a 13-episode series highlighting the success stories of MBR record-holders and recipients,” she said.
According to Nur-ul Afida, the programme is scheduled to make its debut on Aug 26 on Bernama TV.
She expressed confidence that the initiative would mark another significant milestone for Bernama in delivering inspiring stories to the community.
“I believe this marks another major achievement for Bernama, as we are able to share the success stories of these MBR recipients with the general public,” she said.
Nur-ul Afida said Bernama’s role in helping to expand the reach of brands and products across various platforms, including its latest mobile studio service, Motorhome, was also acknowledged by the industry.
“We have a comprehensive platform, including the Bernama Motorhome mobile studio, which can support the industry in introducing brands and products, particularly in relevant sectors,” she said.
