JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 11 (Bernama) — Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) reiterated its commitment to fully cooperate in the investigation into the death of Syamsul Haris, a Reserve Officer Training Unit cadet from the university.
UTM’s corporate communications centre issued a statement today stating it would extend its cooperation to the family of the victim and the authorities to ensure the investigation was conducted transparently and fairly.
“The UTM’s senior management also escorted Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir during his visit to Syamsul Haris’ next of kin at 1 pm today,” the university said, adding that Yayasan Perkasa Siswa also presented donations and its condolences to the family.
Syamsul Haris, 22, a Cyber Security bachelor degree student, died during a UTM PALAPES training session at the Army Combat Training Centre (PULADA), in Ulu Tiram, Johor on July 28.
