48 Former Players, Coaches Want Perak FC To Settle Their Salary Arrears

IPOH, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- A total of 48 former Perak FC players, coaches and staff continue to urge the club's management to settle outstanding salaries and compensation worth more than RM2 million, that has not been paid since September last year.

Former Perak FC player Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor said they were disappointed because there was no positive development received from the management regarding the matter.

"Today we met with their (lawyer) at the Perak Department of Labour (JTK) and following our discussion earlier, he informed us that we need to review all our contracts before any decision can be made.

"The lawyer also requested an adjournment and scheduled a follow-up discussion on Oct 27 at JTK Perak. We hope that all these problems can be expedited and resolved amicably,” he said when met at the Perak Stadium grounds here today.

On April 27, Perak FC chairman Datuk Seri Azim Zabidi confirmed that the squad had to withdraw from the 2025/2026 Malaysia League competition due to severe financial constraints.

Azim also informed that the management could only pay 20 per cent of the total salary arrears owed to players and coaches, but they rejected the offer.

Former Perak FC assistant coach Shahrulnizam Mustapha stated that the payment offer did not match their sacrifices.

“As coaches, we have given our full commitment as the team qualified for the semi-finals of the Malaysia Cup and finished the Super League in seventh place last season. But until now, we have not received what is rightfully ours,” he said.
