SHAH ALAM, Dec 30 (Bernama) -- The Academy of Higher Education Leadership (AKEPT), in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), has won the Best Paper Award through the presentation of a paper on Competency-Based Talent Management at the Higher Education Institution (HEI/IPT) level.
AKEPT announced in a statement that the recognition of excellence came through a working paper entitled “An Institutional Leadership Framework on University Academics Decision to Become Institutional Leaders”, which was presented at the International Conference on Current Issues in Education 2024 (IC-CIE) in Istanbul, Turkiye.
According to the statement, the AKEPT working paper emphasised the importance of a comprehensive, holistic talent selection process to maintain excellent HEI leadership.
It was presented by a group comprising the deputy director of the AKEPT talent management centre, Associate Professor Dr Norazharuddin Shah Abdullah, AKEPT chief assistant secretary Azian Azman and two presenters from UiTM, namely Professor Dr Erlane K. Ghani and Professor Dr Ismie Roha Mohamed Jais.
AKEPT also announced that, as an entity under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), it is committed to institutionalising competency-based talent management in line with the MADANI concept which emphasises fair and humanitarian leadership values that are important to shape the future generation to meet the country’s diverse needs in a variety of fields.
