KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman returned from London today, arriving at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang at 6.45pm.
Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali who confirmed the matter said the entourage which brought Musa had arrived from Seletar Airport, Singapore, and Immigration checks were conducted on board the aircraft.
He said Musa could not have his Immigration checks done over the counter due to health reasons.
"All passenger documents have been checked and recorded into the Immigration Department’s computer system," he said in a statement today.
The checks were completed at 7 pm.
Mustafar said the Immigration Department had also informed the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) of Musa’s arrival.
“No untoward incidents occurred, and the passengers (in the entourage) gave their full cooperation to the officers on duty."
Musa, who is also Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, was reported to have fled to London on May 17 following a leadership crisis in Sabah.
He is now wanted by the police for suspected criminal intimidation against the Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri during a swearing-in ceremony on May 10.
He is also being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission over allegations of bribing several assemblymen.
Sabah State Assembly Speaker Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali was reported to have said that Musa had until Sept 11 to be sworn in as an assemblyman.
Failure to do so could result in him losing the Sungai Sibuga state seat he won in the last General Election.
Musa was sworn in as Sabah chief minister on May 10 after Barisan Nasional (BN) obtained a simple majority in the last GE, but lost it soon after as several BN assemblymen left the coalition and expressed support for Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who is now the new Chief Minister of Sabah.
Musa later said he went to the United Kingdom to receive medical treatment.
