KUALA BERANG, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) received a shot in the arm ahead of the Malaysia League (M-League) season following a RM500,000 sponsorship for one season from Rimba Razia Petting Zoo.
Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) chief executive officer Mohd Sabri Abas said the sponsorship also involved the provision of three four-wheel drives for the team.
He said the sponsorship would help facilitate the Turtles’ preparation and reduce their reliance on funds from the state government.
"So far, we have raised about RM7 million in sponsorships in the form of cash, goods and services from 23 companies.
"However, we still welcome sponsorships from interested parties as we get ready for a long season ahead,” he told a media conference after the TFC sponsorship signing ceremony at Rimba Razia Petting Zoo here today, which was also attended by state Youth Development, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisations Committee chairman Hishamuddin Abdul Karim.
Meanwhile, Rimba Razia Petting Zoo chairman Datuk Seri Zakaria Abdul Razak said they decided to sponsor the club after witnessing TFC's outstanding performances in the past few years.
"This is just a small contribution on my part as a Terengganu-born and die-hard football fan. Insya-Allah, if the company's and TFC's performances improve, we will increase our sponsorship in the future,” he said.
