KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- National women’s bowler Sin Li Jane has created history by becoming the first Asian woman to receive the Player of the Year Award in the American Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour.
She won the award after the 30-year-old athlete snapped her fourth title this season at the PWBA tour championship in Michigan, United States yesterday.
In the final that took place at Thunderbowl Lanes saw Li Jane as the second seed of the tournament beat the top seed from USA, Jordan Richard 215-209 according to a statement issued by PWBA today.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Li Jane beat fifth seed Missy Parkin of USA, 217-206.
With the victory, the Perak-born athlete won the main prize of US$50,000 (RM221,000).
