Steinbruckner Prepared To Quit TFC If Service Not Required

KUALA NERUS, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Tomislav Steinbruckner is ready to resign if his services are no longer needed by the team.

The Croatian-born handler said that as a coach, he has tried to give his best to ensure that TFC is among Malaysia's best teams, thus meeting the high targets set by the club.

According to Steinbruckner as a professional trainer, he is always ready to vacate the hot seat at any time according to the right channel if requested by the management.

"As a coach I always do my best. The management and chief executive officer are here. They can call me anytime to discuss about that.

"You know any coach in this world is always ready to go. My bag is always ready," he said when contacted.

Steinbruckner became the target of angry Terengganu football fans who were not satisfied with the performance of the Turtles squad which was deemed inconsistent.

Calls for the 58-year-old manager to resign ranged from the failure of the Turtles to reach the FA Cup final to the latest when TFC lost 2-3 to Cambodian side Svay Rieng FC in the 2024/25 Shopee Cup Group A opener at SSMZA last night.

Social media related to Terengganu football is filled with various negative comments and hashtags urging the management to take strict action against Steinbruckner.

Steinbruckner started steering the Turtles squad in 2023 replacing Nafuzi Zain who moved to Kedah.

Before being appointed as head coach, he first served as TFC's technical director in 2022.
