30 Finalist Shortlisted for 2024 JCI Malaysia Sustainable Development Award

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- The top 30 finalists have been shortlisted for the 2024 Junior Chamber International Malaysia Sustainable Development Award (JCIM SDA), will be held at HXC Seafood Setia Alam, Selangor on Sept 22.

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) said in a statement that the finalists were 30 projects with contributed significantly to 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

“The award, endorsed by the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Malaysian Youth Council, recognises organisations’ invaluable efforts to promote environmental sustainability, social responsibility and good governance,” MATRADE said.

Its chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said MATRADE was immensely proud to support the 2024 JCIM SDA, which reflects its commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability in trade, adding that the collaboration highlighted the critical role of innovative solutions and responsible practices in shaping a sustainable future.

“I applaud all participants for your dedication to advancing environmental, social, and governance standards underscores Malaysia’s potential to lead on the global stage.

Together, we are not only celebrating excellence but also driving meaningful progress towards a sustainable future for generations to come,” he said.

Meanwhile, JCIM SDA organising chairman Jazz Khor shared his belief the strategic partnership with MATRADE enabled businesses to future-proof themselves by being responsible in addressing global issues and creating opportunities for a sustainable world.

 “The public is welcome to attend the prestigious JCIM SDA Grand Award Ceremony to witness one of the most anticipated sustainable development award presentations in Malaysia,” Jazz added.

JCIM SDA is a globally recognised award aligned with the UNSDG launched by JCI Malaysia in 2017, which recognises projects conducted by companies, governments, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in advancing the 17 UNSDG with call-to-action for both the public and private sectors to help address crucial global challenges such as ending poverty, ensuring access to high-quality education, and protecting natural resources as well as responsible consumption and production.
