NEW YORK, Aug 30 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Thursday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.25 per cent to 101.344 at 3.00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to US$1.1079 from US$1.1116 in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to US$1.3171 from US$1.3187 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 144.78 Japanese yen, higher than 144.66 yen of the previous session. The US dollar advanced to 0.8460 Swiss francs from 0.8422 francs, and it increased to 1.3476 Canadian dollars from 1.3475 Canadian dollars. The greenback added to 10.2307 Swedish Kronor from 10.1998 Swedish Kronor.
