KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The Communications Ministry is committed to ensure no media practitioners in the country are marginalised from obtaining initiatives introduced by the MADANI government.

Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching in a Facebook post today said the matter was discussed at a meeting with Pertubuhan Media Tamil Malaysia last Friday.

"The meeting was also held to ensure that good relations continue to be maintained between the government and Tamil media partners considering the important role played by them.

"I am optimistic that this organisation will play an important role in raising awareness among media practitioners in this country, especially Tamil media friends, to always be informed and take advantage of every initiative offered," she said.

Among the initiatives provided by the government are Tabung Kasih@HAWANA, social protection for part-time media practitioners (stringers) through the Self-Employed Social Security Scheme (SKSPS) and the provision of telephone bill rebates under Media Practitioner RAHMAH Rebate Incentive postpaid plan.
