MELAKA, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- The 2024 KPDN (Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living) South Zone Carnival is to be etched in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for holding a non-stop 40-hour MADANI Rahmah Sale.
Its Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the three-day event starting today (Friday) at the Dataran Sejarah Ayer Keroh was to popularise government services by giving the community greater access to various goods at affordable prices.
“It is also a celebration in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the ‘Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign’ and we will continue next year with various additions and improvements," he said after officiating the 2024 KPDN Southern Zone Carnival at Dataran Ayer Keroh here tonight, which was also attended by KPDN Melaka director Norena Jaafar.
Elaborating further, Armizan said the southern zone carnival in Melaka was the last stop for the KPDN Carnival tour series for this year (2024), after five sales pitched in Perlis (Northern Zone), Kelantan (Eastern Zone), Perak (Central Zone), Sabah and Sarawak.
He said that among other attractions throughout the three-day carnival are the opening of counters by various government agencies including stalls by local entrepreneurs as well as sales of other products.
“We are also preparing a signature programme, namely the MADANI Rahmah Sale, which next year will be expanded to other areas,” he said.
