KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Metronic Global Bhd, through MAT JV Sdn Bhd, has bagged a RM31 million water supply scheme project in Selangor.

MAT JV is a subsidiary of Metronic Engineering Sdn Bhd, which is, in turn, a wholly owned subsidiary of Metronic Global.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Metronic Global said MAT JV had received and accepted the letter of award (LOA) from Gamuda M&E Sdn Bhd for the appointment as the sub-contractor in relation to instrumentation system for the Sungai Rasau Water Supply Scheme project.

MAT JV is in the business of designing, installing and maintaining Extra Low Voltage (ELV), electrical and building/industrial automation systems.

Metronic Global said that MAT JV would collaborate with identified reputable and established local and global measurement and automation technology suppliers for process and laboratory.

“MAT JV will also provide comprehensive technical support, offering services and solutions to meet the measurement and automation requirements of the process industries in Malaysia,” it said.

The Selangor state government’s new Rasau Water Supply Scheme is an initiative by Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd to ensure the sustainability of clean and safe water supply for future generations in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

The development is a long-term plan to further increase the water reserve margin, especially for users in the Klang region.

Upon full completion, the project will be the largest water supply scheme in Southeast Asia.

The project encompasses several ex-tin mining ponds serving as an off-river storage (ORS) facility.

The contract commenced in January 2025 and is targeted for completion by January 2027.

“Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings and net assets per share of the Metronic Group for the financial year ending Oct 31, 2025, and onwards until the expiry of the contract,” it said.
