IPOH, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA) has contributed 13 smart televisions (Smart TV) to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Raja Dihilir Ekram as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Valued at RM22,100, the donation was made under the Santuni MADANI: One Leader, One Village initiative, with UDA chairman Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini adopting the school.

The 55-inch Smart TVs have been installed in 10 classrooms, including pre-school, mainstream, and Special Education Programme Integration classes, as well as three designated spaces such as the Special Rehabilitation Programme classroom, the meeting room, and the school's resource centre.

Mohd Annuar added that the donation reflects UDA's commitment as a government-linked company (GLC) to supporting the Prime Minister’s call for leaders in organisations to allocate resources toward enhancing the country’s education ecosystem.

“We are encouraged to allocate funds for projects that benefit schools. I have chosen this school as my adopted institution, and as long as I serve as UDA chairman, I will continue to provide support through CSR initiatives,” he said.

Mohd Annuar said the school requested Smart TVs to enhance students' engagement with technology-driven learning.

Meanwhile, UDA, in collaboration with the Perak Agriculture Department, is developing a hydroponic crop project at the school to promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and self-development among students.

He emphasised that the initiative fosters food security awareness, encourages student involvement in cultivation, and supports the national agenda to boost local food production.

This aligns with UDA’s commitment to sustainability through its L.I.F.E. branding principles - Legacy, Integrated, Finesse, and Enrich.

To support local sports, UDA is collaborating with various agencies to identify and develop bowling talent among underprivileged students in Ipoh. This initiative also benefits local entrepreneurs operating Lite Superbowl JB9 at Angsana Ipoh Mall, further strengthening the economy and sports industry.

Mohd Annuar also reaffirmed UDA’s CSR commitment through UDA Cares: Back to School 2025, which has assisted 502 underprivileged students in Johor Bahru (Johor), Sandakan (Sabah), and Lanchang (Pahang).
