JOHOR BAHRU, June 29 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Kempas constituency, Muhammad Faezuddin Mohd Puad, intends to focus on, among others, empowering Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and upgrading health clinics.
Thirty-five-year-old Muhammad Faezuddin, also the Johor Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief, said the future of these graduates needs attention, especially those who do not achieve outstanding results and are from low-income families.
"I'm determined to help them get some form of training, such as TVET, which can eventually change their lives when they get jobs or start their own businesses,” he told Bernama after meeting residents around Taman Damansara Aliff here today.
He said that upgrading the Kempas Health Clinic is also on his agenda, with plans to submit a proposal to build a new health clinic to ease patient congestion, should he be given the mandate in the 16th Johor State Election.
According to him, better access to and more comfortable healthcare facilities are required, especially to meet the needs of senior citizens who are forced to endure long waiting periods before receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Faezuddin said the feedback he received throughout the campaign period showed that residents want elected representatives who are approachable and free from protocol.
"One of the concerns raised by the people is that it is difficult to meet their elected representatives. But, if we are given the mandate and the opportunity, insya-Allah we will put the best practices into action,” he said.
The Kempas state seat will see a three-cornered fight involving Muhammad Faezuddin, incumbent Datuk Ramlee Bohani (Barisan Nasional) and Salamahafifi Mohd Yusnaieny (Bersama).
Polling is on July 11, with early voting on July 7.
