KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Artistes' Association (Karyawan) will hold a Yasin recitation, tahlil and prayer ceremony for deceased artistes at Surau Ibadurrahman, Kampung Limau People's Housing Programme (PPR), Lembah Pantai here, this Thursday.
Akhmarulizam Ahmad, spokesperson for the event, announced that the Majlis Semarak Zulhijjah, organised by Karyawan in collaboration with the surau, will commence at 7pm.
Akhmarulizam, who is also chairman of Niq Ehsan Malaysia Charity Organisation, said the tahlil ceremony is held in memory of entertainment friends who have left us including Kamal Huzaini Kamaludin, Datuk Hail Amir, Pyan Habib and Jaafar Onn.
“This tahlil is also for residents of Kampung Limau PPR who had passed on," he told Bernama.
He expects a total of 150 attendees, comprising fellow artistes, journalists and mosque congregants.
