KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysians are cordially invited to attend the launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang ceremony 2024 at Cyber Event Hall, Cyberjaya, Selangor on July 21.
Communications Ministry senior undersecretary (management) Mazlan Abd Mutalib said that all programmes and activities on that day will follow a people's carnival concept to foster patriotism among Malaysians in conjunction with this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations.
"The launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang ceremony 2024, officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim around 2 pm is a major highlight of the programme.
"We will also have the Kita MADANI X National Month Carnival, MADANI Community Gathering, RAHMAH Sales programme, Agro MADANI Sales and many other exciting activities,” he said on RTM’s ‘Selamat Pagi Malaysia’ programme today, adding that the programme has been held eleven times in various locations around the country since 2013.
He also elaborated on some of the programmes, explaining that the Kita MADANI X HKHM Carnival was a community event featuring various activities such as patriotic performances, interactive activities, demonstrations, entrepreneurship and business activities and services, while the MADANI Community Gathering involved casual dialogues aimed at empowering understanding of government policies and initiatives, in a gathering of MADANI Community members from the Peninsula hosted by Datuk AC Mizal.
Mazlan also highlighted that daily necessities at the RAHMAH Sales Programme and the Agro MADANI Sale would be priced 10 to 30 per cent lower than normal market prices.
He also touched on the ‘One House, One Jalur Gemilang’ (1R1JG) initiative, saying that it was to foster patriotism by encouraging Malaysians to fly the Jalur Gemilang.
"As responsible Malaysians who love our country, everyone is encouraged to fly the Jalur Gemilang proudly. Please do not use and keep flags that are torn or worn-out," he said.
Communications minister Fahmi Fadzil announced ‘Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka’ as the theme for the 2024 HKHM celebration on June 5, symbolising holistic unity of a progressive nation, embracing diverse communities united in spirit and steadfast in identity.
