OVER 2,000 REPS TO ATTEND MADANI COMMUNITY RETREAT IN CYBERJAYA THIS SUNDAY

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- Over 2,000 representatives of MADANI communities in the peninsula will attend the MADANI Community Retreat to be held in conjunction with the launch of the National Month in Cyberjaya on July 21.

Information Department (Japen) Communication Services and Community Development Division director Muhammad Najmi Mustapha said the retreat was one of the three main agendas on that day, other than the RAHMAH Sale and Agro MADANI Sale programmes.

“This special retreat involves the MADANI  communities from across Peninsular Malaysia, with the Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil scheduled to deliver a keynote address.

“There will also be casual talks and discussions featuring prominent figures who will discuss elements of communications,” he said during a live interview on Nasional FM in conjunction with the launch of the 2024 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign, today.

He said the retreat is also expected to serve as a platform to empower the community's understanding of the government's policies, initiatives, and direction, and to play their role in ensuring accurate information on government policies and initiatives reaches the people at the grassroots.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Najmi said that there will be over 25 exhibition booths mounted by various ministries, agencies, and government departments to provide visitors with information about the services offered, including six mobile counters from agencies like the National Registration Department and the Road Transport Department.

A unique feature of this launch includes an exhibition showcasing the cultures of the states in Peninsular Malaysia through the Kita MADANI X HKHM 2024 Carnival.

“Each MADANI Community will feature products that represent the signature of their respective states, such as traditional pastries from Perlis and batik from Kelantan, with some interactive elements,” he said.

Muhammad Najmi said that visitors will also have the opportunity to watch various product-making demonstrations, including food, beverages, and clothing, during the programme.

The 2024 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign, themed “Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka,” will be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at 2 pm in Cyberjaya, Selangor, this Sunday.
