SIBU, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories (FT) are simply unstoppable in netball as they bagged the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) gold for the ninth time after defeating Kedah 60-37 in the final at the Mukah Polytechnic Multipurpose Hall today.
FT had also won the netball title in the 2000, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2018 and 2022 editions.
At the SUKMA 2024 final today, coach Norizan Rejab’s FT team led 13-11 in the first quarter before closing the first half going 29-22 ahead.
In the third quarter, Kedah, coached by Huslina Mohd Hussain, lost steam and found themselves trailing 46-29 before FT stepped up another gear in the final quarter to romp home 60-37.
Johor defeated Terengganu 52-46 in the third placing playoff at the same venue to take home the bronze medal.
