Former Haj Pilgrims Urged To Share Knowledge, Experiences For Better Preparedness

KLANG, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Former haj pilgrims are encouraged to share their experiences with those planning to perform the fifth pillar of Islam, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

He said sharing knowledge and experiences is crucial to ensure that future pilgrims are well-prepared and not caught off guard by the realities of the haj journey.

“One crucial aspect they should convey is the experience in Mina. Some may assume that haj journey is simple, but in reality, there are many challenges they will face there.

“By learning from real-life experiences and knowledge shared by previous pilgrims, those embarking on the haj will be less likely to complain, which could affect the quality of their haj.”

He told reporters this after officiating the closing ceremony of the Himpunan Persaudaraan Hujjaj (HISHAJ) programme organised by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) here today.

Meanwhile, TH chief executive officer Syed Hamadah Syed Othman said the HISHAJ programme has been implemented in stages across more than 70 mosques since July 31.

He said that besides fostering closer ties among former pilgrims, the programme also provided TH with valuable feedback to further improve the quality of services for future pilgrims.

As part of preparation for the 1446H haj season, Syed Hamadah said TH would organise the 41st National Haj Muzakarah to discuss issues and challenges faced by Malaysian pilgrims.

“TH will also continue its guidance for prospective pilgrims by organising the Basic Haj Course, covering 13 topics, at approximately 200 mosques nationwide, with sessions scheduled to begin this October,” he said.
