PETRA Strenghtens Integrity Values Through Anti-Corruption Pledge

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) today strengthened its commitment towards integrity by signing the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) in conjunction with the PETRA Monthly Assembly at Menara PETRA in Putrajaya today.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s post (MACC) on the social media platform X said the event was witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also PETRA Minister, and MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

In his speech, Fadillah said the government takes the issue of integrity seriously and that the value of integrity needs to be present in every individual.

“As an example, for Muslims particularly, we look at it in the context of MADANI...we focus on care and compassion in our country  Quoting the words of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "Worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, He indeed sees you.”

"So that is what we should hold on to…we are always monitored, if not by the MACC, then by Allah who is always monitoring us. We hold on to this saying and, Insyallah, we will be in a safe state in this world and the hereafter because what we do is not for worldly rewards but, more importantly, for the rewards we will receive in the hereafter," he said.

Present at the oath-taking were PETRA Development Division undersecretary Amisam Ismail and  PETRA chief secretary Datuk Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli.

Also present were PETRA  deputy minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, and MACC Community Education Division deputy director Samsul Salip.
