KUALA LUMPUR, 17 Jan (Bernama) -- Suria KLCC, Malaysia’s iconic experiential shopping destination, is offering visitors an immersive Oriental Garden experience featuring dazzling decorations, shopping rewards, and lively cultural performances in celebration of Chinese New Year, from Jan 3 to Feb 9.

Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Francis Tan said the red and gold-themed campaign at Suria KLCC’s Centre Court featured stunning decorations with intricate Chinese paper-cut motifs, a grand pagoda, and the twelve zodiac signs.

“In line with Suria KLCC’s commitment to community well-being, this year’s campaign also supports mental health awareness. Visitors can purchase a Suria Ribbon Pin for RM10, allowing them to display a meaningful message at the Gold Blossoming Tree of Prosperity.

“Our Contemporary Oriental Garden theme this year brings a modern twist to timeless traditional values. We are also proud to support mental health awareness through the Gold Blossoming Tree of Prosperity initiative, enabling shoppers to make meaningful contributions while enjoying the festive atmosphere,” he said in a statement today.

He added that throughout the campaign period, visitors could enjoy a variety of cultural performances and activities, including lion dances, traditional Chinese musicals, and jewellery workshops.

According to Tan, visitors who spent RM2,500 or more in two receipts could redeem a Suria KLCC shopping e-voucher worth RM100 and would receive a box of angpau, while those spending RM10,000 or more would be given a RM300 voucher and a set of angpau.

He also said that customers purchasing an e-voucher worth RM1,000 would be entitled to a bonus e-voucher of RM100, limited to the first 50 customers, available throughout the campaign period.

The same statement also noted that Alamanda shopping centre in Putrajaya was set to showcase the Contemporary Oriental Garden theme from Jan 17 to Feb 2 at its Centre Court, in celebration of Chinese New Year.

“To further elevate the experience, exciting performances such as the High-Pole Acrobatic Lion Dance, Chinese Ribbon Dance, and Chinese Opera Mask-Changing performances will entertain visitors throughout the period.

“For young visitors, Alamanda’s VIKids programme offers fun cultural activities. On Jan 25, 26, 29, and 30, children will have the chance to make their own lanterns at the Lantern Paper Craft session and take home their creations,” the statement said, adding that the proceeds from the sale of Green Ribbon Pins would be channelled to mental health advocacy non-governmental organisations.

Alamanda visitors can earn rewards through the Buyer Rewards Programme by spending RM600 or more in two receipts to receive an e-Voucher worth RM30 or by spending RM1,500 to get an e-Voucher worth RM80.

Meanwhile, the Mesra Mall shopping centre in Kemaman, Terengganu, is holding a Chinese New Year campaign from Jan 17 to Feb 6, featuring monochrome red decorations adorned with Chinese paper-cut motifs.

“Visitors will be treated to mesmerising performances like fan dances, traditional lion dances, and lively drum performances, offering a celebration filled with rhythm and culture.

“This campaign also offers a range of engaging workshops for children, including Chinese calligraphy, paper lantern making, and paper-cut art.

“A colouring competition will also be held, offering exciting prizes to the winners,” said the statement, adding that shoppers who spent RM350 or more at selected stores would receive an exclusive embroidered handbag.
