KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- A single goal from midfielder Muhammad Danial Amier Norhisham was enough to gift Kuching City FC a 1-0 victory over Kelantan The Real Warriors FC (TRW) in their 2025/2026 Super League clash at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium tonight.
The three points extended the unbeaten streak of Aidil Sharin Ishak’s side to five matches, further strengthening their hold on second place in a tight race against Selangor FC and Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC.
In tonight’s encounter, Muhammad Danial, better known as Danial Amier, netted the winning goal in the first half after unleashing a close-range shot in the 20th minute, beating goalkeeper Damyanov Damyan Valeriy.
The home side had a golden opportunity to equalise, but a long-range strike from outside the penalty box by Albert Sang was saved by Kuching City goalkeeper Muhammad Haziq Nadzli in the 60th minute to ensure the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.
After 13 matches, Kuching City has accumulated 28 points, while Selangor and KL City both have 25 points but are in third and fourth places respectively, but with a game in hand. Meanwhile, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) continues to lead the standings with 36 points after 12 matches.
Kuching City, who have recorded three wins and two draws in their last five outings, will face JDT at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Jan 13, offering them a chance to avenge their 0-1 defeat in Kuching last August.
