JAKARTA, Jan 24 (Bernama) -- Selangor Red Giants (SRG)'s hopes of advancing to the grand final of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M7 World Championship were dashed when they lost 1-3 to the home team, Alter Ego, in the final match of the lower bracket today.
In the best-of-five format clash that took place at Istora Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium here, SRG started off shakily after losing the first match.
However, the Malaysian team tried to bounce back in the second match, but Alter Ego, backed by the strong support of the home team, continued to maintain their excellent pace to win the match.
Entering the third match, SRG improved their performance and managed to win the match, thus reigniting their hopes of qualifying for the grand final.
However, that hope did not last long when Alter Ego regained control of the fourth match to complete a 3-1 victory, thus confirming their slot to the grand final for the first time in the tournament.
The defeat saw SRG repeat their achievement of the previous edition when they finished in third place.
