BATU PAHAT, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- Police have decided to wait till the suspect in the murder case of a woman in Taman Damai here recovers before beginning their investigation.
Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the male suspect is currently in critical condition but stable after being treated for injuries to his throat and wrist.
“We have not recorded his statement as his responses are slow, we will wait till he recovers and he is currently at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital,” he said when contacted by Bernama today, adding that they were looking into the motif of the murder.
The murdered woman, a supermarket worker who was reported missing Tuesday, was found dead in a house in Taman Damai yesterday when the police raided the premises.
The woman is believed to have been murdered by the suspect, who was found lying on a bed with his throat and wrist slit.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days since yesterday till Thursday for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code, he added.
