KPDN Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said a total of 13,194 inspections were conducted nationwide under the 15-day SHMMP from March 14.

He said the scheme achieved its primary objective in addressing the people's cost of living during the festive period.

"To ensure price stability in the market, KPDN intensified monitoring efforts by carrying out 13,194 inspections nationwide, which is significant compared to the 7,258 inspections conducted in 2025.

"The presence of enforcement personnel at the manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer levels was intended to ensure that traders remain compliant during this SHMMP,” he said in a statement today.

According to Azman, the main offence detected under the SHMMP this time involved traders failing to display the pink price tag, with 892 cases recorded.

"Only two cases were recorded for not having a price tag, while the other two cases involved selling above the maximum price.

"Despite the increase in case action, the majority of traders nationwide still showed a high level of cooperation and complied with the maximum prices for the 27 types of controlled goods that were gazetted,” he said, while thanking the industry players and traders for their commitment to making the scheme a success.

"Following the conflict in West Asia, which has impacted world oil prices, disrupted international trade routes and increased logistics and food import costs, this situation has put pressure on the cost of production and distribution of essential items.

"However, through the implementation of the SHMMP, the people could still purchase essential items at affordable prices, in addition to ensuring supplies could be easily obtained,” he said.

Overall, he added, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 SHMMP ran smoothly and achieved its objective, thanks to the ministry's enforcement and public feedback.

"The KPDN will continue to monitor the supply situation and prices of essential goods to ensure consumers are not manipulated with unreasonable prices,” he said.
